This limited edition of the Whitebook 01 is produced in 250 copies and already sold out at the publisher. Each copy of the Limited Edition book comes signed and numbered by the artist and includes two photo prints and a post card.
With WHITEBOOK 01 – “IT’S A CIRCLE”, photographer and graffiti artist Mark Grokenberger presents a powerful documentation of graffiti culture in New York. Between 2019 and 2025, he traveled ten times to the birthplace of modern train writing together with friends from across Europe, capturing the creation of wholetrains and wholecars up close through his lens. The result is a visually striking book that not only showcases impressive imagery but also serves as a personal diary and cultural essay.
Grokenberger tells the story from the perspective of a writer on a journey to the roots of graffiti—a search for historical parallels, creative development, and personal expression. The atmospheric photographs and accompanying texts capture the intensity, dedication, and spirit of a subculture that has evolved over the past 50 years into a global phenomenon.
